We believe indie games deserve the same localization quality as AAA titles, and Brazilian players deserve to experience your game in their own language.

FAQ

I’m having my game localized for the first time. How does it work?

Game localization is the process of adapting all the text in your game into another language so it feels natural to players in that country or region. It’s not just translation: a good localization preserves tone, humor, and context.

With fableloc, the process is simple. You send us your game’s text files in whatever format you use — Excel, CSV, XLIFF, PO, plain text — you name it, we’ll figure out the rest. Our team translates your content, then every line is reviewed and tested by a senior editor with AAA game localization experience. You get polished, ready-to-import localization files. Drop them into your game and you’re set.

How long does localization take?

Typical turnaround for a 20,000–30,000 word game is around 4 weeks, depending on complexity and our current workload. We’ll give you a timeline with your quote.

Tip: It’s always better to plan for localization in advance. If you know you’ll want localization, reach out early so we can find the ideal schedule. But we’ve got your back either way!

Why fableloc instead of looking for localization elsewhere?

With fableloc, you get a dedicated team who cares about your game’s Brazilian Portuguese quality and communicates directly with you.

And players notice. A game that reads like it was poorly localized or run through automated translation breaks immersion and can hurt reviews. We deliver human-quality work from linguists who actually play games.

Do I need to provide context or just the text files?

Text files are enough to get started, but any context you can share (screenshots, a game build, design docs) helps us deliver a better result. We’ll ask the right questions either way.

What if I need revisions?

One round of revisions is included at no extra cost. If your game updates or you need terminology adjustments later, we’re happy to work with you on that too.
